Daniel J. Bernstein on TTYs in Unix

Daniel J. Bernstein wrote some papers on TTYs in Unix in the early 1990s. Alas! He doesn't even publish them on his own WWW site. Therefore, here they are (with typographical errors corrected and HTML markup added), preserved for posterity. These were taken from a shell archive constructed by smark!pmetzger in 1992.
