Ceroc Wythall caption competition entries

Ceroc Wythall regularly runs competitions on its "News & Competitions" web page. In 2002-10 it was a set of cryptic crossword clues to a Ceroc move. Colin Gleadall was the sole entrant, and (of course) won. In 2002-11 it was an anagram competition. I solved the anagrams, but didn't bother to enter. Colin Gleadall did, however, along with two other people. He won again.

In order to prevent Colin Gleadall from winning for a third month in a row I, like many, decided to enter the 2002-12 competition, which was a caption competition.

Colin shouldn't have stood a chance.

... and he didn't. Much to my amazement I won! That wasn't the idea at all! I only wanted Colin to lose (and, perhaps, to give the judges some chuckles along the way).

The 2003-01 competition is a caption competition as well. (There were eight entrants in the 2002-12 competition. Lou obviously recognises a successful formula.) But I'm not intending to enter it this time. I don't want to give people a reason to start a Campaign To Thwart Jonathan.

However, people really should know better than to wave a caption competition at an erstwhile bogletter author.
