The redo toolset is a suite of tools for building targets from sources, and for helping to make packages. The former has its roots in a package originally designed by Daniel J. Bernstein in 2003, and Bernstein's CubeHash from 2007. The latter have grown organically to satisfy the needs of packaging several softwares.
The fundamentals of redo comprise source and target files, a dependency graph, .do programs, and recursion.
Further information is available on top-level redo targets and the uses of redo.
Users of make have to un‐learn some things, and how redo differs from make.
The packaging helper utilities provide a small amount of tooling similar to Debian's dpkg toolset, but for the BSDs.
